Guy Stuff-Cards

I thought that since this Sunday, June 19th is Father's Day I would show you a few cards I made for the fathers in our family.
Even though these are Father's Day cards they could certainly be used for any occasion.
This week at Love is in the Details...
I find making masculine cards more difficult, then other cards.
My "go to" supplies don't usually work for a masculine themed card.

I love using bling, stickles, ribbon, stickles, flowers, stickles

This took me out of my comfort zone and scouring my craft room for the "guy" stuff. It also made it more difficult when you are making cards for an adult, you could get away with more if it's a young boy.

So I decided to think about each man I was making the card for. His interest or likes and personality.
Once I thought in those terms I came up with cards I really liked and think they will too.

The above woodgrain pattern was made using a texture fade by Tim Holtz.

Place cardstock in texture fade and run through machine.

Carefully brush with paint to catch the raised impression.

Add Distress Ink and dry. I used the Ranger Craft Heat tool, which is awesome!

Here is your woodgrain effect.

This card I also used a texture fade by Tim Holtz but simply applied various colors of Distress Ink to make the raised image "pop"!

Happy Father's Day!
