Party!Party!

This week at Love is in the Details...
A few weeks ago it was my youngest daughters birthday.
We discuss what kind of invites we need?
What kind of "birthday cake" will we have?
What's in the goodie bags?

These are the invites, we wanted FUN! GIRLIE! AND SPRING!

This is the "birthday cake" Mary chose, I guess more birthday dessert.
This dessert is called Creamy Layered Squares...and it's AWESOME!
I found it on the Kraft Canada website. It's light and refreshing and soooo yummy!

I didn't want to write on the dessert so I created a flag that said Happy Birthday!

My Aunt made her AMAZING chocolate chip cookies , which I have made over and over BUT hers seem to taste better.

Here is the recipe, they are from the Purity Flour Cookbook:

Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 large eggs
1 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening(or margarine)
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
12 ounces milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet

Preheat the oven to 375°F.
In a medium mixing bowl, beat the eggs, then add the shortening.
Beat thoroughly until creamed.
Add the sugars and vanilla, stirring until blended.
Add the flour, salt, and baking soda and blend.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop tablespoons of batter onto cookie sheets and bake about 8 minutes.
Cool on cookie racks.

I decided to place them in this wide mouth vase and create a label and added the ribbon.

With the cookies in and the wooden tongs for serving, I love the way this looked!

We put socks, bracelets, candies and chocolates in the goodie bags.
Simple packaging but I think that all the colors from the contents are exciting for the kids to see! Clear plastic treat bags and super colorful ribbon, they were a hit!
